An Air India plane took off from Krasnoyarsk International Airport to San Francisco (USA) with passengers on board.
242 people spent almost a day in the departure lounge of international airlines after an Air India Boeing 777 made an emergency landing at the Krasnoyarsk airport. The plane was flying from Delhi to San Francisco, but turned around in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and landed at the main airport in the region.
One of the restaurant groups took care of the passengers of the flight — they prepared and delivered a hot dinner to the airport, including about a hundred sets of vegan food. The airport hotel also received and fed the crew of the planes that arrived on July 18 and 19.
Krasnoyarsk Airport services immediately provided Siberian hospitality — they provided drinks, food and blankets to people. We provided the guests with information in a timely manner, provided additional navigation around the hall and promptly resolved issues related to the supply of additional drinks and food for the waiting period of the reserve board for departure to San Francisco, — said Evgeny Vladimirov, General Director of Krasnoyarsk Airport.
The guests of Krasnoyarsk thanked the airport staff, and also noted the friendliness of the Krasnoyarsk residents and the beautiful, clean air harbor.
It should be noted that employees of the Krasnoyarsk airport and a local restaurant group had to intervene due to sanctions difficulties. For example, Air India passengers could not pay for food, water or something else due to problems with payment and operation of services in Russia.
In support of the Krasnoyarsk staff, a team of specialists took off from Mumbai at lunchtime on July 19 on a backup plane. They have also launched hotlines for India and the USA. A group of employees of the Indian Embassy in Russia also provided assistance. He and the translator were at the airport and coordinated their actions with the security authorities and the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Passengers continued to travel on a backup plane, and specialists will be engaged in repairing and inspecting the aircraft that arrived earlier at the regional center.
